Rail:

There are two major railway stations in Bangalore - the Bangalore City railway station and the Bangalore Cantonment railway station. The Cantonment station is convenient for passengers in and around the M.G. Road area. The reservation system is computerized and you will have to fill out a form giving details of your destination and date of travel.

During the peak season, most routes are busy. It is therefore wiser to book your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. The reservation and enquiry office is open from Monday to Saturday between 8 A.M. and 8 P.M. On Sundays, this office work from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.

A number of private agencies also run bus services to cities and towns across the country. The other state corporations that operate here are the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation (APSRTC), Tamil Nadu's JJTC, and Kadamba Transport Corporation of Goa .

Moving around Bangalore

Moving around in the Garden City is easy. The main mode of transport is the BMTC buses; these buses ply to all the corners of the city. Additionally you can commute in auto rickshaws, City taxis or rent a car from any of the many travel agencies in the city.
